Harry E. Cummings, Jr.

Harry E. Cummings, Jr., 85, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Harry was born May 17, 1929 in Elkins, WV, son of the late Harry E., Sr. and Margaret McIntosh Cummings.

He was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto and the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Honor. Harry was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp where he worked as a chemical engineer. He also worked as a Tax Consultant for over 50 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia R. (Lowry) Cummings who passed June 3, 2011, they were married April 19, 1952; his brother, Richard ‘Dick’ Cummings.

Harry leaves behind his eight children, Margaret ‘Meg’ (Donald) Reed of Toronto, Deborah (Richard) Pykosz of Weirton, WV, Harry E. (Suzanne) Cummings III of Orlando, FL, James David (Lorna) Cummings of NC, Charles Richard (Nona) Cummings of Toronto, Thomas Lowry Cummings of Toronto, Joseph Michael (Sue) Cummings of Streetsboro, OH, and Elizabeth Ann ‘Beth’ (Paul) Zdinak of Stratton, OH; seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Harry will be held on Monday, March 30 from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Francis Church in Toronto. There will be additional visitation at church from 9:15 am til Mass at 10 am. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will Celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Vigil Service will be held Monday at 4 pm.

Harry’s family would like to thank everyone who was involved in taking care of their father.
