William W. 'Bill' Willoughby

William W. ‘Bill’ Willoughby, 83, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville, OH.

 

Born Feb. 12, 1933, in Toronto, OH, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Jones) Willoughby.

 

He was retired from Weirton-Steel Corp. where he worked in the Electrical Dept. of the Tin Mill. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto and a current member of The First Christian Church in Weirton.

 

Bill was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 and a lifetime member of the Elks and Moose Lodges.

 

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores (Yasko) Willoughby who passed away Jan. 14, 2001; his son Michael who passed in 1979; his brother Donald Willoughby; his sister Clarice Chambers and his nephew Denny Chambers.

 

Bill is survived by his wife, June (Haught) Orwasky Willoughby; three step-children, Michelle Telsez of Naples, FL, Mark Orwasky and Brian Orwasky both of Weirton; his nieces, Julie (Ed) Stacey of Weirton, Janey Chambers of Toronto and Debbie (John) Johnson of Toledo, OH; his nephews Tom (Debbie) Chambers of FL and Brian McCord of NJ; three grandchildren, Taylor and Garren Telsez and Brandon Orwasky.

 

Visitation and funeral services for Bill will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto, OH. Visitation will be held from 11 am til the time of his funeral service at 1 pm. Rev. Kevin Bowers will officiate the service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.

 

Military Honors will be provided graveside by the Toronto American Legion Post #86.
